Greig Cavey Commercial Limited was formed in April
1997 when Peter Cavey completed a Management buy out form Royal Insurance
Property Services trading as Manners and Harrison. Manners and Harrison
have traded in this area from 1973, when the original partnership
of David Manners, Rod Harrison and Peter Cavey was formed. They sold
the business to the Royal in 1988 and Peter Cavey became the Area
Director for the Royal. During the period 1988 to 1997 The Royal
Group continued in the Estate Agency, Commercial Agency and professional
work through a difficult trading time. It became clear that they
wished to concentrate on their core business of Estate Agency and
Financial Services and were not prepared to invest and develop in
other aspects of the business.
Peter Cavey’s view was that the existing Commercial and Property
Management
Businesses were not only viable but were capable of expansion and
was pleased to buy the business back from the Royal in 1997. He was
able to retain all of his existing staff and many of his clients
who have been with Peter since 1973. It was necessary to utilize
a new trading name as the Royal were continuing in Estate Agency
trading
as Manners and Harrison.
To be able to offer a full range of professional services an association
with Ron Greig Estate Agency was
formed and Ron himself joined the board of the new company to be
called Greig Cavey Commercial Limited.
The companies still operate separately but in April 2003
Ron Greig moved his business into 21 South Road so they both now
operate from under one roof.
